KATHUA, Mar 15: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua, Dr. Rahul Minhas who is also District Election Officer (DEO) today convened a meeting of Nodal Officers responsible for overseeing the forthcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024. The meeting held here in the VC Room of the DC office complex, focused on ensuring the readiness and efficiency of all officers involved in the electoral process. Crucial aspects of the elections were addressed, and the Nodal Officers were briefed comprehensively about their role and responsibilities within their respective jurisdictions. Discussions encompassed operational, logistical, and administrative matters essential for the smooth conduct of the electoral process. The DC emphasized the need for Nodal Officers to remain well-equipped and proactive in their roles, highlighting the importance of adhering strictly to electoral laws, regulations, and ethical standards. The integrity and fairness of the electoral process were underlined as key priorities. Furthermore, strategies for conducting voter awareness campaigns and initiatives to boost voter participation were discussed to ensure inclusivity and democracy in the elections. The DC reiterated the significance of the Nodal Officers’ roles in upholding democratic values and principles, stressing their proactive engagement and commitment to transparency, impartiality, and efficiency in the electoral process. The meeting was attended in person by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ranjit Singh, ACR Vishav Partap Singh, SDM Rakesh Kumar, and all appointed Nodal Officers, with virtual participation from ADCs and SDM from other regions, highlighting the collaborative effort to ensure a successful electoral process in Kathua district.
