Police rescues 79 bovine animals under operation "Kamdhenu"*

RAMBAN, Mar 16: On the directions of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar-IPS, Ramban Police acting on specific information about the transportation of bovine animals, various Police teams from Police Station Ramban and Police Station Ramsoo intercepted three vehicles and individuals transporting bovines towards Kashmir. Upon inspection, it was found that 68 bovine animals were loaded in the 03 vehicles and subjected to cruelty without provisions for food and water. This transportation violated permissions from the Competent Authority. Police Party of PS Dharamkund also foiled a Bovine smuggling bid and held 02 persons who were taking 11 Bovine animals on foot towards Kashmir.
As a result, a total of 79 bovine animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No. 52/2024 and 53/2024 were registered at Police Station Ramban, FIR No. 35/2024 at PS Ramsoo and FIR No 12/2024 at Police Station Dharamkund under Sections 188 IPC, and under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The investigation has been initiated into these cases. 05 persons arrested and 03 vehicles involved in the commission of offence have been Seized. The successful rescue operation was conducted by Police parties led by SHO Police Station Ramban, Ramsoo and Dharamkund under the supervision of Dysp Hqrs Ramban,SDPO Banihal, SDPO Gool, Addl.SP Ramban, with the overall supervision by SSP Ramban.
