SSP holds Crime/Security/election preparedness meeting at District Headquarters

KISHTWAR, Mar 16: The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Sh. Abdul Qayoom-JKPS* held a follow up of previous meetings and general crime review meeting of district Kishtwar at DPO Kishtwar.
The meeting was attended by the Addl. SP Kishtwar, all supervisory officers, SHOs, and IC PPs. During the meeting, law & order scenario, follow up of previous meetings and various security measures were discussed for ensuring peace and stability in the district. Various aspects of policing including quality investigation of cases, crime disposal, verifications, disposal of NDPS, UAPA cases, inquest proceedings, absconded, missing persons and other issues related to accountable policing were also discussed.
SSP Kishtwar* emphasized upon the participating officers to ensure quantitative and qualitative disposal of under investigation cases of various nature and to take stringent action against those who are involved in various social crimes.
In addition to the comprehensive crime and security review meeting chaired by the SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Abdul Qayoom-JKPS, also reviewed the preparedness for the forthcoming Parliamentary Election-2024.*
Key aspects examined during the meeting included:*
Deployment and coordination of security personnel to safeguard polling stations, election officials, and voters.
Implementation of stringent security protocols to prevent any untoward incidents or disruptions during the election period.
Collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address any emerging security challenges or threats.
Maintenance of law and order to facilitate the democratic exercise of voting rights by the citizens of Kishtwar.
Vigilance against any attempts of electoral malpractice or illegal activities that could compromise the integrity of the electoral process.
SSP Kishtwar emphasized the paramount importance of ensuring a conducive and secure environment for voters to exercise their democratic rights without fear or intimidation. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Kishtwar Police to uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and impartiality throughout the electoral process. The review of preparedness for the Parliamentary Election-2024 underscores the dedication of the District Police Kishtwar to uphold the democratic values and principles of governance, ensuring the integrity and credibility of the electoral process.
SSP Kishtwar also advised the police officers posted in the district in various capacities to provide a good policing to the general public and give a tough time to anti-national and antisocial elements. He directed that there is zero tolerance to corruption, burking of crime and indiscipline at any level. He said that the efficiency of police can be gauged from the time it takes to respond to the day to day situations. He asserted that alongwith quickness in response, the polite behavior and sympathy at heart are required while dealing with the problems of general public.
