Police arrests 3 bovine smugglers, 5 vehicles seized

Udhampur, Mar 17: Udhampur Police apprehended three bovine smugglers, rescued 31 cattles and seized 05 vehicles used for bovine smuggling.
Team of PS Panchari foiled one bovine smuggling bid in which 09 bovines were rescued from vehicle bearing registration number JK14G 5847. Driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot after leaving behind his vehicle on road. In this regard case FIR No. 08/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA stand registered in PS Panchari.
In another case of bovine smuggling, team of Police Post Tikri rescued 18 bovines from three different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02CL 7740, JK02CS 9920 and JK02CU 1566 at Tikri naka point. Two Accused persons (drivers) namely Mumtaz Ahmed S/O Mohd. Khalil R/O Verinag, Anantnag (driver of JK02CL 7740) and Muzamil Ahmed S/O Mohd. Yousuf R/O Gol Gujral (Driver of JK02CU 1566) got arrested. In this regard, three different FIR cases under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Rehambal.
While one more bovine smuggling case, in which Police team of PS Rehambal rescued 04 bovines from one vehicle having regd. No. JK02CD 5899 and apprehnded one bovine smuggler namely Mohd. Shabeer S/O Fareed Ahmed R/O Jhajjar Kotli who got arrested on spot. In this regards, a case FIR No. 70/2024 stands registered in PS Rehambal.
