JAMMU, FEBRUARY 27 – In all, 8 Members raised the issues of public importance of their respective areas in the Legislative Council today during the Zero Hour. Mr. Mohammed Yousuf Taing raised the issue of stagnation in promotion avenues in Wildlife and Horticulture departments. He demanded evolving an effective policy in this regard so that the employees of these departments may get relief. Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil raised the issue of recovery of loan from fruit growers of Kashmir Valley. He suggested that the recovery should be made easy and collected in instalments. Sardar T. S Wazir raised the issue of meadows near Sunjwan and Chatta village. He suggested for allotting the said land to the locals of the villages. Mr. Mohammad Rashid Qureshi demanded relief for the people of drought-hit areas of Poonch district. He also pleaded for enhancing the quota of ration for BPL families of the district. Sardar Arvinder Singh Micky raised the issue of overloading in passenger vehicles and demanded that necessary measures should be taken to redress the problem. Mr. Lal Mohammed Sabir demanded adequate teaching staff for upgraded educational institutions of Poonch district. Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Khatana raised the issue of some persons who are trying to capture the forest land in Bahu Fort area and demanded stern action against them. Mr. Nassarullah demanded adequate supply of kerosene for the people of Kargil district.
