| Deputations call on CM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, February 27 – The Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah today received several deputations, heard them patiently and assured sympathetic consideration of their genuine demands by the Government. A deputation from Machhil, led by former MLA, Mr. Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, presented a list of development demands and requested the Chief Minister to provide special development schemes for their area for speedy progress and economic growth. They also requested for CD block, special recruitment drive, solar lights and hostel for teaching staff at Machhil. The deputation of Anganwari workers, led by MLA Sopore, Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganai, requested the Chief Minister for enhancing the honorarium of Anganwari workers. A deputation from Hazratbal area led by Mr. Mohammad Rafiq Khan requested for schemes in Hazratbal area for dairy development. The deputation also requested for setting up a mini-trauma hospital in Hazratbal. They also demanded a girls’ college and redesigning of beautification plan of the Hazratbal Dargah surroundings to bring more areas under its ambit. A deputation from Shangus also called on Chief Minister and presented him a list of demands. A deputation of Dry-Fruit Growers Association, headed by Haji Bhadur Khan apprised the Chief Minister of various issues pertaining to the marketing of dry fruits and welfare of the growers associated with this activity. A deputation from Banihal, during its meeting with Chief Minister, highlighted the development needs of Banihal area and requested for upgradation of civic amenities in the area. The deputation was led by Block President, National Conference, Banihal, Mr. Mohammad Akhtar Malik. A deputation of contractual appointees of Horticulture Department led by Ms Rubia Jan, presented their demands to the Chief Minister.
