| Police bust online fraud ring: Two arrested, recovery of electronic devices | | |

Kathua, Mar 19: In a significant breakthrough, Kathua Police has successfully apprehended two individuals linked to an online fraud case. The arrests were made in connection with FIR No. 37/2024 under sections 420/417/IPC at PS Billawar. The accused were involved in a sophisticated scheme of creating fake identities to defraud unsuspecting victims, leading to losses amounting to lakhs of rupees.
The investigation, led by SHO PS Billawar Insp. Jatinder Singh and guided by SDPO Billawar, involved rigorous efforts and technical assistance. As a result, the police team managed to recover crucial evidence, including one laptop and seven mobile phones, from the possession of the accused.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Parsanna Iyer and Dipin Sarkar, residents of Maharashtra. Further investigation into the matter is underway to unearth the full extent of their operations and bring all perpetrators to justice.
This successful operation underscores Kathua Police’s unwavering commitment to combat cybercrime and protect the community from online fraud and deception.
