Farmer Training Programme Empowers Agriculture Practices in Nali Village

Kishtwar, Mar 19: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kishtwar, under the auspices of SKUAST Jammu, organized a one-day farmer training program at Village Nali in Tehsil Bounjwan, aimed at enlightening 30 participants on the scientific cultivation of cucurbits.
Conducted by Dr. Narinder Paul, Incharge of KVK Kishtwar, and guided by Dr. Amrish Vaid, Director Extension at SKUAST Jammu, the program witnessed active participation from Ajay Chander, Agriculture Extension Officer from Bounjwan. Throughout the program, experts delved into various aspects of cucurbit cultivation, including discussions on varieties, land preparation techniques, optimal sowing methods, nutrient requirements, and effective management strategies for combating weeds, insects, and pests associated with cucurbits. In addition to the insightful deliberations, group discussions were also held on important topics such as HADP, Daksh Kissan, Organic Farming, Kissan Sathi portals, Soil Health cards, and KCC (Kisan Credit Cards). These discussions aimed to broaden the understanding of participants on modern agricultural practices and available support systems. The training program concluded with the distribution of high-quality cucurbit seeds among the participants, enabling them to implement the knowledge gained during the session effectively.
