DEO convenes meeting with representatives of political parties

KISHTWAR, Mar 19: District Election Officer Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting with representatives from various political parties to underscore the paramount importance of upholding the highest ethical standards as delineated in the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and other pertinent guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in anticipation of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections, 2024.
The primary objective of the gathering was to sensitize political parties on the imperative nature of maintaining integrity, fairness, and transparency throughout the electoral process. Deliberations during the session encompassed crucial issues such as adherence to MCC provisions, acquisition of permissions for media advertisements and campaign vehicles, initiation of candidate bank accounts in accordance with stipulated timelines, and other pertinent aspects vital to ensuring a just and equitable electoral environment.
The discussions reaffirmed the collective commitment of all political stakeholders towards fostering an environment characterized by ethical conduct, accountability, and reverence for democratic principles.
Dr. Devansh Yadav reiterated the pivotal role of political parties in upholding the democratic ethos of the nation and stressed the indispensability of cooperation and adherence to the guidelines delineated in the Model Code of Conduct by the ECI.
He urged all parties to demonstrate utmost integrity and responsibility, thereby setting a positive precedent for a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.
Expressing confidence in the cooperation and adherence of all political parties to the outlined guidelines, the DEO anticipated a conducive environment for the smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections.
