Udhampur police organized PCPG meeting at Panchari, Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Mar 20: In order to reduce the gap between general public and Police as well as to strengthen Police-public relationship, Police public meeting was held by Addl. SP Udhampur Sh. Baljit Singh - JKPS accompained with SHO PS Panchari Insp. Deepak Sharma at PS Panchari which was attended by Sarpanches/ Panches/Respectable persons of the area. The meeting was organized under the guidance of SSP Udhampur Sh. Joginder Singh-JKPS.
The aim and objective of the meet was to discuss and get acquainted with the problems being faced by the inhabitants of the area. The thrust of the meet was to develop a sense of consciousness amongst the general public of the latest types of cyber crimes, making the people aware of the preventive steps to be taken and to address the issue of growing drug abuse in the youth.
General public were also advised by Addl. SP Udhampur to help and educate the youth to stay away from drugs and were encouraged to motivate them with mainstreaming measures including career counselling. Chairing officers also urged the participants to maintain brotherhod, communal harmony and cooperate with Police by providing inputs/ information regarding drug peddling, drug addiction , bovine smuggling and sought cooperation of general public in curbing the menace of illicit liquor in the area. He further requested the participants to maintain harmony during upcoming GPE-2024.
The participants were assured by the Addl. SP Udhampur for the appropriate disposal of all the points put forth by the locals. Addl. SP Udhampur also assured the participants of all possible help from police side and at the same time suggested the participants to extend their cooperation for the eradication of social evils.
