| IGP Armed holds darbar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU FEB 28: To redress the collective grievances of the officers and jawans on spot and to boost their morale in view of forthcoming general elections to Lok Sabha, a darbar was today held at IRP 11th battalion Miran Sahib by the inspector general of Police (Armed) J&K, Sheikh Owais, IPS at which about two hundred Police personnel besides Gazetted and non-gazetted officer participated. At the outset, the commandant IRP 11th Battalion,. S.A. Watali, IPS (SSP) briefed the IGP regarding the responsibilities and duties rendered by the officers and officials of this Battalion. Thereafter, the commandant asked the officers and officials to air their grievances one by one and thus proceedings started and many of the problems solved on the spot. At the conclusion, IGP Sheikh Owais,IPS appreciated the role of IRP 11th Battalion in all spheres of activity and called upon every official of IRP to put in more and more efforts to maintain excellence. He asked the officials to always adopt people-friendly and benevolent approach as the Armed Police have bigger and multifarious role to play in changing J&K context in days to come. He hoped that Armed Police force under him would display yet more dedication to duties during the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and for that matter during all services rendered in public interest. Discipline and integrity are the virtues for the Police personnel, the IGP stressed upon. The darbar was followed by a volley ball match with jawans of IRP 11th Batttalion as participants. The winner team was conferred with a trophy by the IGP. Among senior officers who were presents on the occasion include Deepak Kumar IPS DIG AP Jammu, A.S. Bali IPS (SSP), Sh. Sham Sunder SP (APCR), Sh. Sham Sunder Sharma SP, Sh. Benam Tosh SP, Vikas Gupta SP, Dy,SSP of IRP 11th Bn, SDPO R.S. Pura and SHO Miran Sahib Jammu.
