| Charges framed against R-Day blasts accused | | |

JAMMU, Feb 28: Presiding Officer TADA Court today framed charges against Wasim Ahmed Malik alias Hamid s/o Jallaludin Malik r/o Asthana Mohalla Kishtwar who is facing trial in much publicized blast case on January 26, 1995 at MA Stadium on celebration of Republic Day in then Governor KV Krishna Roa narrow escaped and causing deaths of 8 persons including officials of Information Dept and serious injured more than 18 persons as a result of explosions. In the charge framed order Court said that in the month of September 1994 accused hatched a criminal conspiracy along with other co-accused who were Pakistan Nationals and members of ISI of Pakistan and leaders of HM, Jamite Islami banned organizations to kill the then Governor KV Krishna Rao J&K, Senior officials of the State and other persons, with a view to striking terror in Jammu City and Jammu Province on the occasion of republic day celebration and you agreed with the other co-conspirators to do and caused to be done illegal acts in pursuance of this criminal conspiracy for committing offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life and thereby committed an offence punishable u/s 120-B RPC. The accused Wasim Ahmed Malik @ Hamid entered into Indian Territory on December 28, 1994 from check-post Jhumian, PAK without permission from the authorities concerned have committed offences punishable u/s 3 read with section 6 of Indian Passport Act. The accused in pursuance to the criminal conspiracy carried too pre-set explosive devices and acts of accused Wasim facilitated embedding of those explosive devices would explode and which in fact exploded on January 26, 1995 while republic Day celebrations were going on in presence of J&K Governor causing deaths of 8 persons and seriously injured 18 persons and offences committed by the accused of murder and attempt to murder with common intention punishable u/Ss 302/307/34 RPC and also punishable U/Ss 3(2) (3) r/w sections 4 and 5 of TADA and also u/s 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Explosive Substances Act including section 7 r/w section 27 of the Arms Act and framed charges against these acts against the accused Wasim Ahmed Malik alias Hamid.
