| Yasin Malik wants cases shifted to Srinagar for further trial | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 28: Presiding Officer TADA Court today adjourn the hearing on application filed by JKLF Supremo Mohd Yaseen Malik and others for transferring the cases of kidnapping of Dr. Rubiya Syed and killing of Air-Force personnel from Jammu court to TADA Court Srinagar. The accused persons including Mohd Yaseen Malik, Zargar, Mohd Iqbal Gandroo, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi, Mohd Zaman Mir and other accused were exempted by the Court as Counsel for the accused Yogesh Bakshi stated that a local Curfew was imposed in the Srinagar City so the accused are unable to attend the Court. Upon this Court exempted all the accused only accused Mohd Rafiq alias Nanaji who is lodged in the Udhampur. The accused who are facing trial in the cases of kidnapping of Dr. Rubiya Syed d/o then Home Minister of India and Ex-Chief Minister of J&K Mufti Mohd Syed was kidnapped by the accused persons including Mohd Yaseen Malik while she was going to hospital in the month of December 1989, was released after the demand of kidnappers was considered by the Govt and released 5 hardcore militants of JKLF. The other case in which five Air Force officials were killed at Batmaloo Srinagar on January, 1990, both the cases were investigated by the Country’s Prime Investigating Agency CBI and presented challan in the court of TADA, which were pending for framing charge for last more than 16 years. On behalf of accused persons an application was filed for transfer of cases from Jammu TADA Court to Srinagar TADA Court which was came to hearing today before the Presiding Officer TADA Court Jammu was adjourned as the accused were not present in the Court.
