JAMMU, Mar 22: National College of Education Purkhoo Camp Domana celebrated world water day on 22nd March 2024. This day is celebrated to raise awareness among masses regarding sustainable management of water resources. In our country surface water and ground water are the main resources of fresh water. This year's theme was "Water For Peace". More than 3 billion people worldwide depend upon water that crosses national borders. Yet only 24 countries have cooperation agreement for all the shared water. There is urgent need within and between countries to unite around protecting and conserving our most precious resource. Public health and prosperity, food and energy system, economic productivity and environmental integrity all rely on well functioning equitably managed water cycle. We must act on realization that water is not only a resource to be used and competed over. It is a human right, intrinsic to every aspect of life. On this world water day we all need to unite around water and use water for peace, laying the foundation of a more stable and prosperous tomorrow. In this regard rangoli competition was held in the college on the theme of the day.Er. Ajay Singh Jamwal (Dean Administration), Principal Dr. Manju Dwivedi, Yahsumati Jamwal, Neetu Sharma and others were present on this occasion.
