Ramban Police arrests 03 bovine Smugglers

RAMBAN, Mar 22: Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU, Ramban police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar-IPS has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, arrested 03 bovine smugglers, rescued 35 bovines and seized a vehicle.
A police team of Police station Ramban headed by SHO Ramban while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Shan Palace, intercepted a truck bearing registration No JK 02 BQ 9787 on way towards Kashmir for checking ,the driver managed to escape from spot. During checking 23 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
Police Party of PS Batote foiled a Bovine smuggling bid at Nashri Naka and held 01 person namely Nazir Hussian son of Mohd. Hussian resident of Kheri,Jakhani, Tehsil and District Udhampur who was taking 08 Bovine animals on foot towards Kashmir illegally.Police Party of PS Gool also foiled bovine smuggling attempt and held 02 persons namely Reyaz Ahmed son of Qasim Din and Zakir Hussian son of Keema both resident of Dalwa Tehsil Gool District Ramban who were taking 04 bovine towards Kashmir illegally.
As a result, a total of 35 bovine animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No. 55/2024 was registered at Police Station Ramban, FIR No. 39/2024 at PS Batote and FIR No 26/2024 at Police Station Gool under Sections 188 IPC, and under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The investigation has been initiated into these cases. 03 persons arrested and 01vehicle involved in the commission of offence has been Seized.
The successful rescue operation was conducted by Police parties led by SHO Police Station Ramban, Batote and Gool under the supervision of Dysp Hqrs Ramban,SDPO Gool, Addl.SP Ramban, with the overall supervision by SSP Ramban.
