3/22/2024 10:44:44 PM
Early Times Report
RS PURA, Mar 22: In a significant move towards ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order, the Jammu Police detained a notorious hardcore criminal, Ankush Kumar, also known as Anku, under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in the R.S. Pura area of Jammu District on March 22, 2024.
Ankush Kumar, son of Baru Ram, hailing from Khana Chak Tehsil R.S. Pura District Jammu, has been notorious for his involvement in organized criminal activities, posing a grave threat to peace and order in the region.
Despite being booked under several FIRs and arrested in numerous cases, Ankush Kumar persisted in his criminal activities, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the law. His continued involvement in criminal activities posed a significant risk to public order, particularly in the R.S. Pura area.
According to police records, Ankush Kumar has been implicated in multiple cases, including:
Case FIR No. 16/2023 under Section 4/25 A. Act, registered at P/S Arnia.
Case FIR No. 39/2023 under Sections 341/323/504/34 IPC, registered at P/S Arnia.
Case FIR No. 98/2023 under Sections 307/341/323/34 IPC, 4/25 A. Act, registered at P/S Arnia.
In light of Ankush Kumar's persistent criminal activities, which were deemed to be propagating further criminal conduct, the District Magistrate Jammu issued an order (No. 14/2024 dated 19-03-2024) for his detention under Section 8 of the Public Safety Act (PSA). Ankush Kumar has since been remanded to jail.
The action taken against Ankush Kumar underscores the Jammu Police's commitment to tackling hardcore criminals and preventing potential disruptions to peace and order. By detaining individuals like Ankush Kumar under the PSA, the police aim to not only address ongoing criminal activities but also to proactively safeguard public safety and uphold the rule of law in the region.
