| PDP leader demanded opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan and Doda-Kapran road | | |

Jammu, Feb 28: Senior People Democratic Party (PDP) leader Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik has demanded opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan and Doda-Kapran road to provide better road connectivity to people of twin hilly and far-flung districts Doda and Kishtwar. According to a statement issued here , Prof. Shohab Malik said that since Doda-Batote road has been declared unsafe for vehicular movements after a stretch of 1500 meters washed away near Assar, therefore to connect both Doda and Kishtwar district with the rest of the world, opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan and Doda-Kapran road is need of hour. “It is the need of the hour that both these routes connecting Doda and Kisthwar with the rest of the world should be opened without any delay,” said Prof. Malik He said that with the opening of these roads, there will be a huge flow of local as well as foreign tourists to both these districts as both these routes are attractive for tourists. “We can give boost to the tourism pilgrimage also as numbers of religious places of different religions are located in these two districts as number of Pilgrims could not visit those religious places due to poor connectivity,” said Prof. Shohab further adding that by opening these routes economy of these two districts would get further boosted. He further said that to connect these twin districts to Jammu region a road via Sudhmaha Dev(Chakka Nullah) to Marmat Doda be constructed immediately which reduces 50 kilometer of distance from Jammu to Doda. Meanwhile Prof. Shohab has demanded immediate ex-gratia relief for the accident victims of Bhaderwah and Bagwa mishaps.
