| KPs concerned over Obama’s military aid to Pakistan | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 28: Panun Kashmir expressed serious concern over the moves of the newly elected Obama administration in hiking military aid to Pakistan. While speaking in a public meeting as a run up to the 3rd World Kashmiri Pandit Conference to be held in Jammu on 11th&12th April, National Spokesman Virender Raina said that the recent announcement of of the much hyped Obama administration has put India in a double geopardy. On the one hand its anti- outsourcing policy would hurt Indian professionals badly and in particular Kashmiri Pandit youth who have taken to software and other computer sciences since migration from valley. As of now the job prospects for KP youth in the state seems bleak as the state government has not implemented the special recruitment drive for the unemployed KP youth despite PMs assurance in the Round Table Conferences. On the other hand the economic and military aid to Pakistan has been increased manifold, ostensibly to fight terrorism, which has increased despite Pakistan getting an 8 billion dollar of military assistance in the last few years. Pakistan instead of using the military assistance from America to fight terror used the same to bolster its defenses against India and fuel insurgency in Kashmir. Senior leader Daya Krishen Koul while addressing the gathering said that both these moves of the US administration are self defeating and highly flawed.Anti- outsourcing move of the US administration would hurt US more than India as it is in recession and would badly need the services of Indian Techies and the assistance to Pakistan would only be diverted to Indian borders to wage war against it. Instead of this largesse the US should declare Pakistan a terrorist nation until it changes its policy of using terrorism as an instrument of state policy. The gathering was also addressed by Shri S.K.Khabri.
