JOURIAN, Mar 22: In commemoration of World Water Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College Jourian, in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Science (EVS), orchestrated a spirited rally aimed at raising awareness about water conservation. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout of students, all eager to contribute to the noble cause of safeguarding this precious resource for future generations.
Adorned with vibrant placards advocating for water conservation, students marched through the streets, their voices resonating with slogans championing the preservation of water. The rally served as a powerful visual testament to the collective determination of the youth to address the pressing issue of water scarcity.
Additionally, the organizers arranged for a thought-provoking documentary screening and a lecture by Professor Archana Sharma, Head of the EVS Department. Professor Sharma's discourse, centered on the theme of "Save Water for Peace and Prosperity," offered valuable insights into the intricate relationship between water conservation and sustainable development.
Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, Principal of the college, commended the efforts of the volunteers and emphasized the paramount importance of conserving every precious drop of water. Her words served as a poignant reminder of the critical role individuals play in ensuring the availability of clean and abundant water resources for future generations. The event not only served as a platform for raising awareness but also fostered a sense of responsibility and collective action among the students towards addressing environmental challenges.
