SCERT Jammu concludes capacity building program for Rehbar-E-Khel teachers

JAMMU, Mar 23: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Divisional Office Jammu, has successfully concluded a comprehensive two-day Capacity Building Program tailored for Physical Education Teachers appointed under the Rehbar-E-Khel (ReK) Scheme in Jammu Division. This program aimed to enhance pedagogical skills, bolster subject knowledge, cultivate leadership and communication abilities, and advocate for inclusivity and diversity within the educational framework.
Under the auspices of the Department of Art Education and Vocational Education, Academic Unit-I, the program brought together 41 Physical Education Teachers appointed under Rehbar-E-Khel (ReK) from various districts of Jammu division.
The sessions were meticulously designed to address contemporary challenges and responsibilities faced by Rehbar-E-Khel (ReK) teachers in today's dynamic educational landscape. With a focus on leadership development, strategic planning, and effective management practices, participants were equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive positive change and foster excellence in sports and fitness education.
A diverse range of sessions covered topics such as Sports Science for Healthy Living, Food as Medicine & Tantropathy, Defying Ageing, Vital Role of Sports in Society, Role of Physiotherapy in Sports Injury, and Vocational Education as per NEP 2020. Renowned experts from the Department of Youth Services and Sports and Medical Background facilitated these sessions.
The program was inaugurated with motivational words from Prof.(Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT Divisional Office Jammu, and graced by Mr. Suneel Mahajan, President JK Athletics Association, along with staff members.
Resource persons for the training program included Mr. Chamel Singh PEM, Mr. Ramandeep Kralia, Dr. Irfan Lone, Physiotherapist Super Specialist, Jammu, and Mr. Bhupinder Singh Tirthi, Retd. Asstt. Director SAI.
The program was meticulously coordinated by Mr. Yogesh Kumar (AO) and Ms. Pooja Sharma (Sr. AO), with assistance from faculty members of SCERT.
Prof. Dr. Sindhu Kapoor presided over the valedictory function, emphasizing the pivotal role of participants in shaping the school curriculum and engaging students in sports and games. This initiative marked the first training program involving ReK teachers organized under the aegis of SCERT, Jammu Division.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Pooja Sharma, Sr. Academic Officer, and the distribution of certificates of appreciation among participants and resource persons, underscoring their valuable contributions to the enhancement of physical education in Jammu Division.
