Cyber Investigation Unit recovers, refunds hard earned money of online fraud victim

RAJOURI, Mar 23: The District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri, a dedicated unit to deal with cases of online frauds and cyber crime, has successfully recovered and refunded hard earn money of a cyber fraud victim. In a proactive response to recent financial fraud cases, District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri has achieved a success by recovery and refund of funds to affected victim valuing of rupees 13,190/-. A complaint of cyber crime and online fraud was received by the unit in Rajouri after which the dedicated team started its investigation. Through diligent investigative efforts of this District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri team in coordination with financial institutions launched a swift action into the fraudulent activities and recovering the unlawfully obtained fund ensuring justice and restitution for those impacted. The District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri remains committed and vigilant in efforts to prevent and combat financial crimes, working tirelessly to safeguard the interests and financial security of our citizens. The unit also appeals its citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activities promptly on National Helpline Number 1930 or report online cyber complaint at www.cybercrime. gov.in or District Cyber Investigation Unit Rajouri Helpline Number- 9541900755. Rajouri Police said that cyber crime and online frauds have become a serious concern for the society and innocent citizens fall prey to it loosing their hard earn money but Jammu and Kashmir police has taken a pro active approach to deal with such crime and to help innocent victims. However the people should remain fully aware towards this threat and should follow all necessary precautions like not clicking any suspicious link, not responding to suspicious WhatsApp messages as well as SMS, not to respond spam calls and never to share there bank details like account number, debit and credit card number, CVV, PIN, OTP with unknown people especially on phone calls.
