Range police Hqrs Jammu organizes knock out cricket tournament in Kathua

KATHUA, Mar 23: On 19.03.2024, Range Police Hqrs. Jammu organised Knock out Cricket Tournament under the Control and Command of DIG JSK Range, Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS and overall supervision of SO to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP under Civic Action Programme 2023-24 at District Police Lines Kathua, inaugurated by Chief Guest, Shivdeep Singh SSP Kathua, SO to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, Addl.SP Kathua Paramjeet Singh, Dy.SP DAR Kathua Subash Chander was the Guest of Honour.
Insp. Joginder Chib RI DPL Kathua, Insp. Sunil Sharma SHO Lakhanpur, Insp. Ajay Chib SHO Kathua, SI Bhalwan Singh Lines Officer Kathua, other dignitaries and general public from surrounding area were also present to boost the morale of the players.
Today total 02 matches has been played, in first Match AJ Cricket Academy Kathua beat VCC Mahanpur by 10 runs and Arjun declared Man of the match for scoring 46 runs and in second match Basohli Cricket Club beat United XI Cricket Club Billawar by 12 runs and Nitin declared Man of the match for scoring 13 runs and 03 wickets.
SO to DIG Jammu Rajinder Singh Katoch while addressing to media said that the main motive of J&K Police to organising such a tournament is to encourage youth to stay away from drugs, negative influence and bad company. He also said that total 08 teams from different locations of district Kathua participated in this tournament and Final Match will be played on 22.03.2024.
Committee members of CAP from Range Police Hqrs. Jammu SI Suresh Kumar, ASI Jasbir Singh, SgCt Sudesh Sharma and Jit Kumar were also present for smooth functioning of the tournament.
