| Drug peddler arrested, contraband recovered by police | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under Ops SANJEEVANI on 22.03.2024 Police Party of Police Station R.S Pura while on routine patrolling established naka near Bhagwati Brick Kiln Agra Chak Road for checking/frisking. During naka checking/frisking police party found one pedestrian on the way from Agra Chak towards R S Pura. On seeing police party, the said pedestrian turned back and try to flee from the spot. On this police party of P/S R.S Pura successfully overpowered the pedestrian. On preliminary questioning the said person disclosed his name as Mohd Rashid @ Shidu S/o Nazir Hussain R/o Ward No.04 Simbal Camp Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu. During his personal search 55.09 grams of banned contraband (narcotics drug/psychotropic substance) was recovered from his possession.
In this regard case FIR No. 53/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stand registered police station RS Pura and investigation taken up.
Further investigation is going on.
People have applauded the efforts of Jammu Police in curbing drug abuse from the Society and acting acting taugh against Drug peddler. Jammu Police enjoined upon all citizens of Jammu to be aware of drug menace and report any incident to Jammu Police. The identity of the person informing regarding this menace will not be disclosed to anyone. |
