Early Times Report
KATHUA, Mar 24: In a bid to align with the objectives outlined in the New Education Policy (NEP-2020) and promote skill-oriented learning, students from the Physics Department of Government Degree College (Boys), Kathua, showcased exceptional prowess during a one-day hands-on training workshop on Physics Workshop Skills held at Government Polytechnic College, Kathua.
Conceived jointly by the Physics Department of Government Degree College (Boys), Kathua, and Government Polytechnic College, Kathua, the technical event aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications inherent in the study of physics. Under the academic curriculum mandated by Jammu University as per NEP-2020, the workshop provided students with valuable insights into real-world physics experiments and demonstrations.
Professor Seema Mir, the esteemed Principal of GDC (Boys), Kathua, lauded the students for their active participation in skill-based training workshops. She emphasized the significance of hands-on training in enabling students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios effectively. Such practical experiences, she noted, not only strengthen conceptual understanding but also enhance retention levels among students.
Er. Vivek Sharma, the Principal of Government Polytechnic College, Kathua, conducted technical demonstrations during the workshop sessions, illustrating the diverse real-world applications of physics beyond textbook theories. His interactive sessions underscored the dynamic nature of physics and its relevance in various spheres of life.
Dr. Ahsan Elahi and Dr. Daya Ram, Assistant Professors at GDC Kathua, played pivotal roles in coordinating the one-day training program. They provided demonstrations of various skill-oriented techniques in physics workshops, offering students invaluable hands-on experience and practical insights.
The workshop served as a platform for students to deepen their understanding of physics concepts through experiential learning, fostering a culture of innovation and application-driven education. Such initiatives underscore the commitment of educational institutions to nurture holistic development and equip students with essential skills for success in their academic and professional pursuits.
