Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 24: In a decisive move against the rampant drug trade plaguing the region, Jammu Police has seized valuable properties worth crores belonging to notorious drug peddlers in the Rajeev Nagar area, under the provisions of the NDPS Act 1985.
The operation, conducted under the umbrella of 'Ops Sanjeevani', saw the attachment of a triple-story house and a double-story residential property linked to individuals identified as major players in the illicit drug trafficking network. The properties were traced to Reena alias Roopa, wife of Bobby, and Pal Singh, along with his wife Seema, residents of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal Jammu.
These individuals, embroiled in multiple cases related to drug offenses, including FIRs registered under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at the Bahu Fort Police Station in Jammu, are alleged to have acquired the said properties through proceeds from illegal drug trafficking activities.
The decisive action taken by Jammu Police underscores their unwavering commitment to eradicate the drug menace from the region. By attaching the ill-gotten gains of drug peddlers, law enforcement authorities aim to disrupt the financial infrastructure fueling the narcotics trade, thus striking at the heart of criminal operations.
Local residents of the area have lauded the initiative, recognizing it as a significant step towards curbing drug-related crimes that have long plagued the district of Jammu. The attachment of these properties serves as a stern warning to those involved in drug trafficking, highlighting the determination of law enforcement agencies to root out such illicit activities and safeguard the well-being of the community.
The operation signifies a broader effort by Jammu Police to intensify their crackdown on drug syndicates and dismantle their networks, thereby ensuring a safer and drug-free environment for the residents of Jammu and beyond.
