Sadhotra criticizes Chugh's political understanding, defends NC legacy in J&K

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 24: National Conference Additional General Secretary, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, launched a scathing attack on BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, accusing him of political naivety and a lack of understanding regarding the complexities of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
Speaking at a Youth National Conference Meeting in Block Kot Bhalwal, Mr. Sadhotra rebuked Chugh for his recent remarks against the National Conference leadership. He emphasized that Chugh's role as the BJP's representative in the region didn't automatically confer expertise on the intricacies of J&K's political landscape.
Sadhotra challenged Chugh's knowledge about the contributions of National Conference stalwarts like Sheikh Abdullah, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Omar Abdullah, highlighting their role in shaping J&K's destiny within India. He underscored the NC's rejection of the two-nation theory and its efforts to maintain peace and dignity in the region, contrasting it with what he deemed as BJP's divisive policies.
Furthermore, Sadhotra criticized BJP's reluctance to hold elections in J&K for the past decade, asserting that the upcoming polls would demonstrate the people's disillusionment with the saffron party. He predicted a significant setback for BJP, especially in the region beyond "Lakhanpur Ke Paar."
Addressing the newly appointed office bearers of the Youth National Conference Block, Sadhotra urged them to vigorously propagate the party's agenda and work towards its success in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections, where the National Conference has formed an alliance with Congress.
The event saw the participation of various party members and leaders, including Dr. Rajinder Sharma, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, and Gourav Singh Jamwal, among others, who echoed Sadhotra's sentiments regarding the BJP's policies in J&K.
The strong statements by Sadhotra underscored the deep-rooted political tensions in J&K and highlighted the contrasting narratives of the National Conference and the BJP regarding the region's past, present, and future.
