BARAMULLA, Mar 26: The District Administration Baramulla today took a proactive step towards fostering civic engagement and empowering young voters with an awareness program held at Azad Gunj Baramulla.
Aimed at educating and informing first-time voters, the event witnessed the active participation of Deputy District Election Officer, Ab Rehaman Bhat and Assistant Returning Officer for Baramulla, Arshid Ahmad Khan.
The program featured a series of engaging activities facilitated by students from various higher secondary schools and colleges in the district. Through interactive sessions and discussions, attendees gained valuable insights into the electoral process, their rights, and responsibilities as citizens.
The Deputy District Election Officer emphasized the importance of active participation in the democratic process, encouraging young voters to exercise their franchise responsibly. The event served as a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas, enabling participants to voice their concerns and queries regarding the electoral system.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Returning Officer Baramulla highlighted the significance of youth engagement in shaping the future of democracy. Stressing the pivotal role of first-time voters in influencing electoral outcomes, Khan emphasized the need for informed decision-making and active involvement in the electoral process.
