The primary objective of the course was to sensitize police officers about various legal provisions aimed at safeguarding the rights of children and ensuring their proper care, especially during periods of restricted liberty. Participants were acquainted with existing legal frameworks concerning child rights in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in comparison to national standards, and were introduced to improved methods of handling juvenile cases.
A valediction function was organized at the Academy, with Sh. Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor, Trgs), gracing the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, Shri Gupta emphasized the importance of understanding the conceptual background of child rights and provisions outlined in the Juvenile Justice Act.
