JAMMU, Mar 27: In an earnest endeavor to foster a culture of electoral awareness and civic responsibility, PM Shri Govt. Higher Secondary School Bhalra, Bhaderwah, hosted a dynamic "SVEEP Programme" (Systematic Voters Education & Electoral Participation) today on March 27th, 2024. The event, held under the theme "Value of Individual Vote/Importance of Voting and Role of Citizen in Voting," was a testament to the institution's commitment to nurturing informed and engaged citizens.
SVEEP, a flagship initiative of the Election Commission of India, aims to educate voters and enhance electoral participation, especially in the context of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
A myriad of engaging activities unfolded within the school premises, with enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets and students. Debates, painting competitions, and other interactive sessions were organized to illuminate the significance of voting and the pivotal role citizens play in shaping the democratic process.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Koul, Teacher/Associate NCC Officer/Zonal Counseling Incharge, delivered a comprehensive discourse on the importance of voting, elucidating the responsibilities of citizens and guiding students through the online pledge procedure.
The event also saw the active involvement of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) including Neeraj Kotwal, Sunil Raina, Puran Singh, and Dr. Nitan Kotwal, who shared insights into various electoral procedures, enriching the understanding of students and participants.
Under the visionary leadership of Worthy Chief Education Officer Doda, Sh. Parkash Lal Thapa, and the guidance of Sh. Pardeep Singh Billawria, Principal of the Institution, the SVEEP Programme culminated with a solemn pledge. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to democratic values and pledged to exercise their voting rights judiciously.
PM Shri Govt. Higher Secondary School Bhalra's resolute efforts towards fostering an informed and participatory citizenry exemplify its dedication to nurturing responsible leaders of tomorrow. Through initiatives like the SVEEP Programme, the institution continues to inspire and empower the youth to actively engage in the democratic process and contribute to the nation's progress.
