GDC Ramnagar organizes seven days' special winter camp

RAMNAGAR, Mar 27: NSS unit of GDC Ramnagar organizes 7-Days Special Winter camp w.e.f 19-3-24 to 27-03-24 in the college. The theme of the camp was 'Mera Gaon Mera Abhimaan'. The camp was organized under the able patronship of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, the Principal of the college.
Day 1 included the Orientation workshop of NSS volunteers in which they were made acquainted with the social values and responsibilities. On, Day 2 Signature campaign on Nasha Mukt Bharat was held. On Day 3, Mega cleanliness drive which included the cleanliness of Bowli, natural parks and monuments was organized. On Day 4 a physical activity 'Tug of War' was held for physical strength and to develop sportsmanship among volunteers. On Day 5, a mega plantation drive was held in which volunteers planted around 50 different species of plants. On Day 6, Marathon on theme ' Run for Unity' was organized in which Arpit Bandral, Anish Attri and Virender Sharma stood first, second and third respectively. On Day 6 Valedictory Function was organized in which volunteers displayed their cultural talents. All activity was held under the able guidance of Prof Ritika Mahajan, NSS Program Officer of the college.
Principal GDC Ramnagar Dr Bhavnaish Chand Anthal in his address emphasized the vital role that NSS plays in nation and social development. He opined that NSS helps in developing a sense of social and civic responsibility and urges the volunteers to develop competence for group living, democratic attitudes and leadership qualities.
Dr Pankaj Sharma, Prof Sumita Rao, Dr Piyush Kant, Prof Esha, Prof Sonia Raj, Prof Sanjay Malhotra and Prof Tanmeet Kour also graced the event with their presence. All volunteers were provided refreshment later on.
