Week-long refresher course for physical educators kicks off in Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 30: A comprehensive refresher course for Physical Education Masters (PEMs), Physical Education Teachers (PETs), and Resource Persons for Education in Knowledge (REKs) of Zone Miran Sahib commenced today at the Youth Hostel Nagrota in Jammu. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, under the patronage of Director of Youth Services and Sports JK UT, Subash Chander Chibber (JKAS), and guided by Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Ved Parksah (JKAS), the course aims to enhance the skills and techniques of the participants in various games and sports.
Under the meticulous supervision of DYSSO Jammu, Kharati Lal Sharma, and Camp Incharge Varinder Sharma, the week-long training will equip the trainees with updated methodologies to effectively impart sports education to students in their respective institutions.
The course features expert guidance from Departmental Master Trainers, including Vrinder Sharma, Wardan of Youth Hostel Nagrota, Jagjeet Singh (volleyball), Vishal Singh Jammwal (Kabaddi), Ravinder Singh Bali (Kho-Kho), Ravi Kumar (Band Master), Rakesh Chander Sharma (Morning Assembly & Mass PT), and Raman Sharma (Judo Incharge). These trainers bring a wealth of experience and expertise to facilitate the learning process for the participants.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, has ensured comprehensive arrangements for the comfort and convenience of both the trainees and officials, covering food, refreshments, as well as boarding and lodging expenses.
The refresher course not only serves to upgrade the skills of the participants but also underscores the commitment of the Department of Youth Services and Sports towards promoting a culture of sports and physical fitness in educational institutions across Zone Miran Sahib. Through such initiatives, the department continues to nurture a cadre of well-trained educators capable of fostering holistic development among students through sports and physical activities.
