LAHDC hosts farewell party to outgoing Lt.Gen Ahluwalia

Leh Mar 3- To bid farewell to outgoing Lt. Gen V K Ahluwalia, GOC 14 Corps Leh, the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Chhering Dorje hosted a farewell fare well party in his honour on behalf of the people of Ladakh.
The Executive Councilor, Health Dorje Mutup, Deputy Commissioner, A.K Sahu, Army, Para military Force and civil officers, besides the Councilors were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Executive Councilor highlighted the cordial relations between Indian Army and the civilian people of Leh district since 1947. He said that the good relations between the Ladakhi people and Army are an example for the whole country since long.
Dorje recalled the goodwill gesture of Indian Army under Operation Sadbawana for providing infrastructure like computer sets, generators to the schools and other community centers. He said that the Army has constructed various minor and major development works which include two bridges over Leh Nallah at Shangstang and Changspa, a commendable work done by the Army during the time of Lt. General A.K Ahluwalia.
Dorje said that the Civil-Army relation has further strengthened during the tenure of Ahluwalia and expected the same in future too. He said Army has always extended help and assistance to the Civil Administration as and when required at the time of emergency and natural calamity.
CEC presented traditional Khataks and a memento to the outgoing General Ahluwalia on behalf of the people of Leh district.
While complementing such a befitting farewell, General Ahluwalia said that the welfare schemes and providing land for the families of Ex-servicemen of Ladakh Scouts was an appreciable job of the Hill Council and said that Leh district has achieved tremendous development in all respects under the banner of Hill Council. He also complimented the people of Ladakh for extending co-operation to the Army.
