Police nabs two bootleggers, recovers 110 bottles illicit liquor | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Mar 31: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the District Police Kishtwar have successfully apprehended two bootleggers, including one female, and recovered a total of 110 bottles of illicit liquor. Kishtwar Police laid surprise nake at different locations across the district, different teams were constituted. These teams, led by Insp Firdous Ahmed under the supervision of Dy. SP hqrs Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS, conducted surprise checks at Panditgam and Shalimar areas of Kishtwar. During the surprise check at Shalimar, a police team apprehended a woman with 62 bottles of illicit liquor. A case, FIR No. 87/2024, has been registered against her under relevant sections of the law at PS Kishtwar, and the investigation is underway. In another Naka established at Panditgam, the police team intercepted another bootlegger with 48 bottles of illicit liquor. The accused identified himself as Ramesh Kumar, S/O Mangal Sen, resident of Sarkoot. In this regard a case, FIR No. 88/2024, has been registered against him under relevant provisions of law at PS Kishtwar, and investigation is ongoing. District Police Kishtwar remain steadfast in their commitment to eradicating all forms of illegal activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
