IMS Jammu hosts investor awareness program to empower students

JAMMU, Apr 1: Institute of Management Sciences (IMS), Jammu, took a significant stride in enhancing financial literacy among its students by organizing a Guest Session on Investor Awareness Program on April 1, 2024, within its campus premises. The program catered specifically to students enrolled in the Management and Computer departments.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guest speaker Ankush Goja, Regulatory Incharge of the Northern Region at Investor Service Centre, Jammu. Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, Director of IMS, commenced the session with a warm welcome speech, setting the stage for an enriching learning experience.
Ankush Goja, in his hour-long session, delved into the intricacies of understanding financial markets and evaluating investment opportunities. He underscored the significance of financial planning for young students, imparting insights into various risk management strategies. Moreover, Goja elucidated on the importance of building a diversified investment portfolio and navigating regulatory frameworks effectively.
The session witnessed active participation from students pursuing BBA, BCA, and MBA programs, reflecting their keen interest in understanding the nuances of investment and financial planning.
A stimulating Q&A session followed, allowing students to seek clarifications and delve deeper into the subject matter. As a token of appreciation, a memento was presented to Ankush Goja by Director IMS, Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, acknowledging his valuable contribution to the program.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Gurshish Kour, Assistant Professor at IMS, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker and all attendees for their enthusiastic participation and engagement. The Investor Awareness Program served as a platform for students to gain invaluable insights into the realm of finance, empowering them to make informed decisions and navigate the dynamic landscape of financial markets effectively.
