| IRCS launches rare blood group campaign | | | Early Times Reporter
JAMMU, MARCH 03- The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal who is also chairman of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) today chaired a meeting of IRCS officers to review the functioning of the society. During the meeting, Dr. Kotwal asked the authorities of IRCS to prepare a database of negative blood groups by holding such blood grouping camps at the door-steps of various institutions. He also advised them to organize roadside camps and create awareness among the masses. He said that to meet the requirement of rare blood groups i.e negative groups which have a low percentage among the public and hence causes lot of problems in getting the required people at the time of emergency. Chairman ISBTI, Mr. T. R. Raina rmed the Divisional Commissioner the campaign shall continue for two months in which different areas of the town shall be covered and on the spot free blood grouping shall be done. Secretary, Regional Red Cross Society, Jammu, Mr. Anil K. Padha disclosed that the society has organized number of blood donation camps in different institutions including colleges, banks and insurance companies in and around Jammu to support different blood banks of Jammu.
