Early Times Report
SAMBA, Apr 2: In a proactive move against illegal mining operations within the district, Samba Police has seized eight vehicles suspected of being involved in the unauthorized transportation and mining of construction materials. The crackdown, aimed at curbing illicit activities detrimental to the environment and public safety, underscores the authorities' commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
Police teams, led by the Station House Officers (SHOs) of various police stations, including PS Samba, Police Post Rakh Amb Tali, Police Post Goran, PS Purmandal, and PS Vijaypur, conducted extensive patrolling across their respective jurisdictions. During these patrols, they apprehended four tractor trolleys each, lacking proper registration numbers, allegedly utilized for illegal mining and transportation of construction material.
The seized vehicles have been promptly handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba, for further investigation and appropriate action in accordance with the law. This collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies and relevant departments demonstrates a concerted approach towards combating illegal mining activities and safeguarding the district's natural resources.
The Samba Police reiterated their unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the preservation of the environment. Such proactive measures not only deter illegal activities but also send a strong message to perpetrators that the authorities will take stringent action against those involved in such unlawful practices.
