| GDC Udhampur organizes Poster making Competition under SVEEP | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 3: In the continuum of activities under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) during the Azaadi Ka Amrit Kaal, the Electoral Literacy Club of Government Degree College Udhampur, organised a poster making competition under the banner of "Chunav ka Parv, Desh ka Garv" to inculcate constitutional obligations and to encourage students to uphold democratic traditions of the country. The event held under the guidance of patron and Principal Prof. Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta. The aim of the program was to educate the young college students about the importance of their participation in the elections.
The Program started with the interesting and colorful poster making competition by the participants. The students showcased their enthusiasm and expressed their views through their colorful depictions in the event. The introductory speech was given by Prof (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Udhampur, in his address he appreciated the efforts of Dr Jagjeet Singh, Convener SVEEP and his team of volunteers for organizing so many innovative programs as per the schedule and apprised all present about the Value of Vote and a Voter in the Electoral Process for a vibrant and powerful democracy. He appealed to all the students to get registered as voters and have in the pocket the most powerful ID Card of India, that is Voter ID Card, that has the Power to select the best leader and change the governments even. He further said that all must gear up to vote fearlessly and show commitment towards the nation.
