JAMMU, Apr 3: Under the Patronage of Principal Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, Department of Hindi, Government Degree College, Jourian organized "POETRY COMPETITION". The Head Department of Hindi, Dr. Deepu Sharma presented formal welcome address on the occasion. In this occasion Dr. Anuradha Pandoh , Principal of GDC Jourian addressed the students and faculty members present during the competition. She shared her words of wisdom while highlighting the importance of Poetry. She glorified Poetry as language of humanity, love, emotions and many more. She encouraged the students to write poems, stories and express their thoughts and ideas. 20 enthusiastic Participants of the college show cased their creative talents by reciting different poems on various topics like importance of parents, struggle in life, importance of education, teachers etc. On the occasion, Prof. Neeraj Verma, HOD Education and Dr. Sushma Kumari, Lecturer in Department of Sociology acted as judges of the event. The first position was bagged by Priya Devi, Kajal Devi came second and Mehak got third position in the competition. The Programme was attended by large number of students and faculty members of the college.
Dr. Deepu Sharma , HOD Hindi extended formal vote of thanks. The whole event was anchored by the students of semester 6th Priya Kumari and Lata Devi. |
