DC reviews arrangements for festivals of Navratri, Baisakhi

SRINAGAR, Apr 3: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of Officers at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex here to review the arrangements for festivals of Navratri and Baisakhi in the district.
During the meeting, the DC took department wise review of the arrangements to be put in place for smooth celebrations of the Baisakhi, the festival of harvest and Navratri the festival celebrated on New Year as per Hindu calendar to be celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and religious fervour on April 09 and April 13 respectively.
At the outset, the DC directed all the line departments to make elaborate measures for the smooth celebrations of the festivals and ensure all basic arrangements are put in place for the devotees well in advance.
On the occasion, the DC passed directions to the PDD and PHE Departments to ensure uninterrupted supplies of power and water at the main Temples and Gurudwaras particularly at Sharika Devi Temple Hari Parbat, Badamwari and Gurdwara Chattipadshai.
He also asked Health authorities to ensure a medical team with ambulance services at the Temple and Chattipadshai, Kathi Darwaza Rainawari and Sharika Devi temple on the Navratri and Baisakhi festivals.
Similarly, SMC authorities were asked to keep sufficient personnel deployed at both the venues for sanitation and cleaning measures. In addition, concerned were asked to make adequate transport and parking arrangements.
Besides, Additional District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmad Mir; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Ahmad Kataria and RTO, Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Ahmad Bukhari, the meeting was attended by senior Officers of PDD, SMC, PHE, Health Services, Revenue, Information, FCS&CA, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fire & Emergency Services and other concerned Officers.
