Navratra, Eid-Ul- Fitr arrangements discussed

UDHAMPUR, Apr 3: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today convened a meeting of officers and prominent citizens of the district here in Conference Hall of DC Office Complex to discuss arrangements for holy Navratras, Eid – Ul- Fitr, Ramanavami and Baisakhi festivals.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Joginder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Umesh Shan and other senior officers of different departments besides prominent citizens attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on the arrangements related to security, safe drinking water, power supply; first-aid, sanitation, checking of rates, fire tenders, repairing of street lights, lifting of garbage, deployment of police personnels, traffic congestion in the town, among others.
Necessary directions were issued to district heads of various departments to ensure fool-proof arrangements pertaining to their respective department during the festivals.
The DC stressed upon the Police department to make sufficient security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the festive season. Xen PHE was asked to ensure regular supply of drinking water besides Xen PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival.
Stressing on maintaining cleanliness in the town, the DC directed the CEO MC to take necessary steps in this regard and also sought the cooperation of prominent citizens in keeping the town clean.
Keeping in view the festive season, concerned officers were directed to conduct extensive checking of the market to keep a check on overcharging by the shopkeepers. Traffic department was directed to deploy an adequate number of traffic personnel at traffic jam prone areas to avoid any traffic congestion during the festival.
