Range Police Hqrs organises T20 knockout cricket tournament

JAMMU, Apr 4: T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Range Police Hqrs. Jammu under Civic Action Programme 2023-24 under the guidance & directions of DIG JSK Range, Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS and overall supervision of SO to DIG Jammu Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP. In order to promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations, besides taking forward youth friendly policing initiative, Range Police Hqrs. Jammu under Civic Action Programme 2023-24 organised T20 Cricket Tournament, which concluded today at District Jammu (Jammu University Cricket Ground).
It is pertinent to mention here that 08 teams from different locations of District Jammu, participated in this tournament. Today before Final Match of the T20 tournament. A T20 Friendly Cricket Match between RPHQ Jammu-XI and Brothers Cricket Club-XI also played in Jammu University Cricket Ground, in which Brothers XI won the Match.
SO to DIG Jammu Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP welcomed the chief guest DIG JSK Range Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS and Special guest Director Sports & Physical education Jammu University, Dr. Dauood Iqbal. Chief guest of the event DIG JSK Range, Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS, while addressing to media said that such type of events may strengthen the Police and Public relations and youths should take more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs and bad company.
He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity, good health and keeps the individual away from the negative forces. Today in Final Match, Friends Cricket Club Akhnoor beat Diamond Cricket Club Simbal and won the Match by 06 wickets. Bhanu Gupta declared as Man of the Match for scoring 48 runs and grabbing 01 wicket.
Chief guest DIG JSK Range Dr. Sunil Gupta-IPS, Rajinder Singh Katoch SSP, SP South Jammu Ajay Sharma, Dy.SP RPHQ Jatinder Singh felicitated the winner team as well as runner up team with Trophies, and Cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- to winning team and Cash prize of Rs. 7000/- to runner up team Cash Prize of Rs. 3500/- to Man of the series and Cash Prize of Rs. 1500/- to Man of the Match.
The Public witnessed in the event appreciated the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police for organising the Cricket tournament for youths.
Chief guest congratulated the winner/runner up teams and expressed that Police is committed to give boost to the sports and other youth development activities in the area and transform/mould the sportsmen in the right direction.
On the occasion team CAP RPHQ, ASI Tarsem Lal, ASI Jasbir Singh, SgCt Sudesh Sharma, Jit Kumar, Shashi Pal and Vishal Verma were present in the venue for smooth functioning of the tournament.
