| Drug peddler’s property attached | | |

Srinagar, Apr 4: Police on Thursday attached properties of a notorious drug peddler under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Police said “properties containing 1 Kanal & 10 marlas land and single story residential house worth approximately Rs 20 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler identified as Farooq Ahmad Mir a resident of Zaspora Tangmarg were attached under NDPS act”.
“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police”, police said and added “the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler”.
The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No.50/2019 & 55/2023 u/s 8/20,29 NDPS Act of PS Tangmarg & case FIR Nom 142/2022 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Kunzer, police added. |
