Flag march conducted by SSP, DC alongwith CAPFs in view of upcoming Parliamentary election-2024

REASI, Apr 5: As a prelude to the ensuing Lok Sabha-2024 Elections, District Police Reasi carried out a flag march in collaboration with District Administration Reasi across various areas. The flag march was led by Superintendent of Police Reasi Mohita Sharma-IPS and Deputy Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Paul Mahajan-JKAS alongwith SDM Katra, Addl. SP Katra, CRPF, ITBP and other officials of Police & District administration Reasi.
A General briefing regarding the election duties and responsibilities of Police and CAPF was given on spot. After the proper briefing with regard to familiarization of area, area domination, sensitivities and confidence building measure in the area of responsibility and for creating a peaceful, smooth and tranquil atmosphere for free, fair and peaceful conduct of GPE 2024 in Reasi.
The nafri was briefed and instructed that while on duty at any time any place, the police official must be very polite, civilized but firm in his duties while dealing the common man or citizen.
Traversing through major thoroughfares and key intersections, the road march served as a platform to disseminate vital security information and instill a sense of collective responsibility among citizens. Prominent areas such as Katra Town, Main Market, Bus Stand, Auto Stand, Asia Chowk, Ambica Chowk, Fountain Chowk, Varun Chowk, Jij Chowk and Tempo Stand were covered, amplifying awareness about security protocols and garnering public cooperation for the smooth conduct of the Parliamentary Election-2024.
The flag march was carried out to instil confidence among general public so that they can exercise their franchise on the polling day without fear or coercion.
