Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 5: J&K Bank, proudly announces the successful completion of Mission R-SAP (Remove Shyness Apply Pads), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at eliminating myths and taboos surrounding menstruation in the society. Spearheaded by J&K Bank, with LFO-BHF NGO as its implementing partner, this initiative marks a significant milestone in promoting menstrual health awareness in Jammu and Kashmir.
Throughout the course of this initiative, a total of 503,140 sanitary napkins were distributed free of cost across J&K covering all the 20 districts of U.T. Additionally, comprehensive more than 130 awareness sessions were conducted, reaching out to 54,138 individuals in schools, colleges, and community gatherings in J&K.
One of the unique aspects of Mission R-SAP was its inclusive approach, which ensured that both male and female populations were educated about menstrual health. Recognizing the importance of male engagement in destigmatizing menstruation, special efforts were made to involve men and boys in the awareness sessions.
J&K Bank's proactive leadership in addressing societal challenges has been commendable. The bank's commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment is evident through initiatives like Mission R-SAP. By fostering open dialogue, providing access to menstrual hygiene products, and challenging age-old beliefs, J&K Bank has demonstrated its dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for menstruating individuals in the region.
"We are immensely proud to have spearheaded Mission R-SAP alongside our esteemed partner, LFO-BHF NGO," stated J&K Bank. "By addressing the cultural taboos surrounding menstruation and ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products, we have taken a crucial step towards promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in our community."
Vivek Parihar, Director & CEO of LFO-BHF NGO, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling societal challenges. "Mission R-SAP has been a testament to the power of partnership and collective action," he remarked. "Together, we have not only provided tangible support to women and girls but also sparked meaningful conversations that challenge age-old beliefs and promote menstrual health awareness."
