JAMMU, Apr 5: Today Parvinder Singh Editor -in-Chief of upcoming "Black & White Digital News Channel " called on Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT Sh Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan and apprised him of launching a digital news channel highlighting aims & objectives of this project . The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the initiatives of Parvinder Singh in choosing the field of journalism which is challenging one after having served in financial institutions for a long time . An invitation was also extended to Lieutenant Governor seeking his blessings for launching the channel which he accepted subject to clearance from Election Commission of India in view of enforcement of Model Code Of Conduct.
However, during the course of meeting issues relating to involvement of youth in the menace of drug trafficking & loss of precious lives of youth due to its consumption have also been discussed. The Lieutenant Governor impressed that a big movement generating awareness amongst the youth with the involvement of civil society is the need of hour. Parvinder Singh assured that an all out effort involving community leaders, students , civil society & youth will be made to eradicate the menace of drug use for which we will coordinate and work in tandem with the J&K Police which otherwise is doing its best administratively to curb the sale & consumption of drugs .
