GDC Thathri organised seminar on SVEEP

JAMMU, Apr 6: Today on 6th April 2024 NSS unit of GDC Thathri in collaboration with the College Literary Committee and Electoral Literacy club organised a seminar on Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral participation (SVEEP) under the overall patronage and supervision of Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college .The Principal addressed the NSS volunteers and students of the college and laid emphasis on the importance of Vote in a democratic system. All the staff members were present in the event. Dr.Sanjay Kumar, Programme Officer NSS introduced briefly about the program and highlighted the significance of each and every vote and voter. Prof Deepak Raj, HoD English gave a detailed lecture about the program titled "SVEEP" and motivated the students to participate in this festival of democracy. He also undermined the role of the youth in enlightening the ignorant and illiterates about the value of election participation in a democratic setup.
The Program was managed by Dr.Sanjay Kumar NSS PO and Prof Arshad Ayoub (Nodal officer Electoral Literacy club). Prof Arshad Ayoub addressed the NSS Volunteers with a pledge to uphold the democratic values by making every vote count. The HoDs present on the occasion were HOD Urdu, EVS , Education, Dogri, Economic, political science, Sociology and Hindi.
The Program concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr.Javid Iqbal HOD Urdu .
