Ramban Police busts narcotic smuggling Ring: Seizes 15 grams of heroin in backward linkage

Ramban, Apr 7: In a resolute crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Ramban Police, under the supervision of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar IPS, achieved a significant breakthrough as part of Operation Sanjeevani. On March 28th 2024 a meticulously planned operation unfolded in Gool, resulting in the apprehension of an individual with 16 grams of heroin.
During routine patrolling, a vigilant police team from Police Station Gool intercepted a pedestrian for questioning, identified as Asif Iqbal, son of Mohd Rafiq Najar, hailing from Shurkundi Dalwah Tehsil Gool District Ramban. Subsequently, a search operation led to the discovery of approximately 16 grams of heroin-like substance in his possession.
Following the recovery, a case under FIR No. 30/2024 was swiftly registered at PS Gool, invoking relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation unveiled the intricate web of narcotics smuggling, leading to the identification and apprehension of Helmant Kumar, son of Yog Raj, a resident of Punjab with an address at Kunjawani Jammu. Hemant Kumar was found in possession of 15 grams of heroin, directly linked to the aforementioned case on 06 April , 2024.
The successful execution of this operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Ramban Police towards curbing the menace of narcotics smuggling. The arrest and seizure were carried out by a dedicated police team from PS Gool, led by SHO Gool, under the supervision of SDPO Gool, Adl. SP Ramban, with the overall guidance of SSP Ramban.
