Notorious criminal booked under Public Safety Act: Reasi Police

Reasi, Apr 7: Working on multipronged strategy to deal with habitual criminals and those indulging in heinous crimes in recurring manner, District Police Reasi booked a notorious criminal of Reasi under Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur.
Jaswinder Singh @ Sundri son of Ganga Singh resident of Sarna Tehsil Katra District Reasi is a criminal of desperate character and habitual of indulging in acts of attempt to murder cases including serious offences as well as organised crime that disrupt peace in the area. The detail of cases is FIR No. 121/2011 U/S 341/323/32 4 RPC Act, FIR No. 232/2012 U/S 341/323 RPC, , FIR No.248/2012 U/307/323/34 RPC Act, FIR No. 185/2013 451/323/382 RPC, 4/27 Arms Act, FIR No. 252/2022 451/427/323/34 IPC, FIR No. 252/2022 451/427/323/34 IPC, FIR No. 368/2023 307/34 IPC registered at Police Station Katra.
Moreover in view of his continuous involvement in criminal cases and he is also found motivating local youth to indulge in similar activities and therefore it became imperative to book him under stringent law to save younger generation from indulging in crimes of serious offences and preventing him to commit crime in future also.
On the directions of Ms Mohita Sharma-IPS Senior Superintent of Police Reasi, his dossiers for Public Safety Act was framed and sent for necessary detention order to District Magistrate Reasi who formally issued the order No.01-PSA of 2024 of his detention under PSA. On the orders of Sh. Vishesh Paul Mahajan District Magistrate, Reasi, Jaswinder Singh was arrested and lodged in District Jail Udhampur under Public Safety Act.
SSP Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is committed towards the safety of the public and to eradicate notorious criminal from the society.
