GDC Udhampur hosts Farewell for Outgoing NCC Cadets

Udhampur, Apr 7: GDC Udhampur recently bid a graceful farewell to its outgoing senior NCC cadets from Semesters 6th, marking the end of their remarkable journey with the institution. The event, held under the guidance of the college’s esteemed Principal, Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta, was a testament to the dedication and patriotism of the departing cadets. The ceremony commenced with a bouquet presentation to Prof.(Dr.) Romesh Kr. Gupta, the Chief Guest, by Prof Vijay Kumar, ANO NCC J&K 2 boys battalion GDC Udhampur, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Prof Vijay Kumar, in his welcome address, praised the NCC cadets for their outstanding achievements and emphasized the importance of national service and dedication to the nation. Prof. Revika Arora, addressing the cadets, urged them to uphold the responsibilities of being NCC cadets and become pillars of honor for their families, college, and teachers. She wished them success and prosperity in their future endeavors. Principal Prof. (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta, the chief guest, encouraged the cadets to serve the nation wholeheartedly and consider joining the armed forces to contribute selflessly towards national defense. He congratulated the NCC cadets of Semesters 2nd and 4th, as well as the ANOs NCC, Prof (Capt.) Shivani Khajuria and Prof Vijay Kumar, for organizing such a memorable event. Prof. Gupta emphasized the invaluable contribution of NCC cadets to the college community and bestowed blessings upon the departing senior cadets.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed faculty members including Prof Babu Lal, Dr Sonia Khajuria, Prof Suresh Dogra, Prof Sunil Bhatt, Mr Shashi Sharma (PTI), Prof Anoksha, Dr Rupali Sharma, and Ms Rafia, adding to the significance of the occasion.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms Swati Thakur of Semester 4, expressing gratitude to all participants for their contributions to the success of the event.
