Early Times Report
SAMBA, Apr 8: In a proactive move, Samba Police intercepted and seized three vehicles transporting Khair wood without valid permission within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
During routine vehicle checking at Naka Rakh Amb Talli, a police party from Police Post Rakh Amb Talli, led by the Incharge, intercepted three trucks bearing registration numbers HP24E-5312, HP69A-7772, and HP93-5291. Upon inspection, the trucks were found laden with Khair wooden logs, being transported illegally from Himachal Pradesh to SIDCO Samba without the necessary authorization.
The swift action by the police underscores their commitment to curbing illegal activities, particularly in the realm of natural resource exploitation. All three vehicles involved in the illicit transportation have been handed over to the Forest Department Samba for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
This seizure serves as a warning to those engaging in unauthorized transportation of forest resources, emphasizing the importance of adherence to regulations and proper permits to prevent environmental degradation and uphold the law.
